If you were previously using a remote like the Pronto TSU2000, which we were using before upgrading to the TSU9600, then you may have gotten used to going to individual devices that were actually the remotes for the equipment in your system. This system XCF file is based on running all devices with macros, but having a remote available for fine tuning all aspects of the device being used, as well as using buttons to get back and forth between devicess, like Cable and TV. All device remotes can also easily be accessed from a menu page of Devices on the Home Menu. There is an included Help File that explains the remote's use and functions to all users. Elements used were simply from the ProntoEdit Professional program and the "onlyoneremote.com" web site.

Contest Entry #11: Alpha King Brew
Added by Carlton Bale | 2007 | 4,750 views

The name is derived from one of my favorite beers, Three Floyds Alpha King Pale Ale. The design makes heavy use of Alpha channel transparency, allowing every button and panel to take on the color and texture of the main background image. This allows a user to completely change the look and feel simply by changing one background graphic – zero button modifications required. The idea is to have quick and simple modification without having to redesign every single graphic. Included are multiple button designs (flat and rounded) in a large array of sizes and shapes. Shadow effects make the buttons appear to float above the panel; the buttons appear to sink when depressed.

The Alpha King Brew design also shows “the art of the possible” for the Pronto Pro should Philips decide to expand the feature set. This design includes mock-ups for potential features, such as 2-way control of Windows Media Center (with Cover Art download) and Sonos (through uPnP) as well as the ability to read RSS News Feeds from any Internet source. Also included is a mock-up of a PC application that parses Internet Movie Database results and sends them to the Pronto Pro (assuming that Philips releases 2-way communication protocols to third party developers.)

The Game Room & Basement
Added by Charlie Schneider | 2008 | 13,735 views

This remote controls a wall panel of near identical Samsung HDTV's - one 52 inch, two 40 inch and one 26 inch over by the bar. Also, it can control the home theater, the gym TV and the TV in the Nanny room.

What makes this remote set up unique are the following:
  • Extensive use of Pronto Script to keep track of how the remote is being used and in controlling the routing of the AV device chosen to the View Station desired. There are two modes. Individual TV/view station mode and in Game Room mode where the three game room TV's are all on and controlled at the same time.
  • Extensive utilization of the RF system to communicate to all of the gear centrally located in the media closet (including 3 identical DVR boxes) and to control the identical Samsung TV's in the game room.
  • Utilization of the Audio Authority whole house AV distribution system
  • Utilization of the new Sony HES-V1000 Media Server including the discovery of its discrete on/off codes.
I have not finished completing the music and picture systems. However, over the years I have utilized so much from this site, I felt it was time to provide some payback! As you know, a good remote control is never done!

Claudio Santulli's XCF v1.03
Added by Claudio Santulli | 2009 | 27,451 views

Version 1.03 is based on my previous 5.03 NG PCF file. Changed the layout and funtionality to fit the new TSU 9400. Added new prontoscript functions like:
  • Rotarywheel page scrolling and DVR transport.
  • Dual function script for the hard power button. (system on/of by using a long or short press)
Contains a large image library of fullscreen background images. Contains lots of new custom made buttons and modified buttons. Contains New HD digital sound format logos and Dutch Channel logos. This file is build with PEP 1.1 for now, so opening it in PEP2 will result in loss of all non database codes en macro's. It's still work in progress, but feel free the use all of it!

Dave's Home Theater XCF

Updated XCF file with complete codeset for the Denon AVR-5308, including XM, HD Radio, iPod, USB/Net, Zone 2, and Zone 3 control. Some simple ProntoScripts to control power (quick press, toggle device on/off, press & hold, turn on device and configure all inputs), as well as use of the scroll wheel to tune HD radio stations.

Most devices feature "hidden" pages containing the raw IR codes. Displayed pages link to these features. More recently, I've started using "proxy" devices, which make it easier for me to swap in new equipment without having to update multiple pages.

The graphics are based on a very old B&W configuration I developed for my original Pronto in the 90's. Sometime I need to update the bitmaps to take advantage of the color capabilities of the TSU9400.

Contest Entry #08: Black Magic

I really love the sleek design of the new Pronto TSU9600 and wanted to come up with a configuration file that complements its clean, edgy look, but is straightforward and easy to navigate.

In the design, I have tried to simulate commonplace yet modern materials and textures and use them in an otherworldly context. A sense of space and motion add to the realism that I wanted to achieve in the file, but more importantly, I hope your imagination is fired by what I’ve come up with. My planned future addition of .wav files will hopefully heighten the sense of “unreal reality”.

Apart from the .wav files the file isn’t fully realized (focus on the Cinema and Audio options when you’re testing it out...). I’ll be working hard to get the configuration finished, but in the meantime, I hope you’ll give Black Magic a go on your simulator (or the real thing if you’re lucky enough to already have one...) and enjoy the direction I'm heading!
