My first attempt at a Windows Phone 7 Metro themed remote. Not much animation yet.

Chromatic is an XCF designed for the Marantz RC9001 that takes a restrained approach to colour.

Chromatic is primarily an activity based XCF but has full remotes for all devices. If you want more colour if your life simply change the default iPhone 4 wallpaper on the system page to any of the supplied additional wallpapers (or one of your own), and Scott Grimes' translucent buttons will glow the way you want them. The XCF also includes all New Zealand TV and Radio logos including those for Sky TV and Freeview.

Workout for Over Forties

I use this system in my workout room, while on the treadmill or on the elliptical crosstrainer. In addition, being in my early fifties, I need reading glasses for any font smaller than 14. Therefore, the buttons are designed to be large and color-coded. This way they can be immediately found even when you are beating the hell out of yourself (in terms of cardio fitness), and even if you are far-sighted (in terms of focal length of your anterior eye chamber).

Contest Entry #02: Prototypes

GRAND PRIZE WINNER! The idea behind Prototypes is: how might a hard-buttoned remote control look if it were designed specifically for watching TV, DVD or PVR?

Change stations from an elegant chrome sphere placed on your couch table, control your DVD player via a device that is quite similar to today’s business phones, or switch your PVR with a PDA-like gadget. Or wouldn’t a keychain remote control for your receiver be pretty cool?

Prototypes features elegant near-photorealistic graphics, dynamic transitions, help screens for every device and intuitive navigation. If you don’t own a TSU9600 to test this on, please don’t only watch the graphics on the simulator, but take a peek at the full resolution graphics.

I hope you like this design – any feedback would be gladly appreciated!

Not perfect at all, but very simple and functional to use. I've tried to "imitate" a typical surface of a standard remote control to one main page for every device in relatively same matter, so that handling is very similar for each device. Most of them can be changed simply by associating the right database item, the others have a hidden, relatively complete learned device page. Second, for some devices is added a very useful "ABC"-page (eg., to give recordings a title), so one must not type the numbers every time. The layout is a little bit small, so one might prefer using the stick, but fingertip works mostly with not too big fingers.

Converted from my TSU7000 to suit my TSU9400. Most of the graphics have stayed the same, just a few tweeks needed here and there, also found PEP3 a bit tricky to get my head around at first.

I've had this file kicking around for a couple of years (should of shared it earlier) but recently needed to make some changes to it so thought now would be a good time.

My TSU9400 v1 design builds on Edward Lee’s iPhone interface and combines custom buttons with stock Pronto elements and components from Daniel Tonks, etal. The design does not break new ground; however, it does achieve my goal of minimizing the number of screen changes with minimum clutter. FYI... the interface may appear dark in the simulator; design elements were darkened to compensate for the 9400’s screen brightness.
