Matthew Zenkar's TSU-7500
Added by Matthew Zenkar | 2006 | 9,384 views
A frameless tabbed design. Includes color PNGs with transparent layer for most of the Dish Network Stations as of 10/28/2006, however it does not include Dish Network PPV stations. This configuration is not based on "action pages," and the station logos could be better in my opinion. However I think it is an effective design for what we use it for which is mainly for viewing video rather than listening to audio. Thus, the design is video based and uses "watch" macro buttons on video source device tabs to turn the system on and off. Since the TV is used as a monitor and my primary video source is the PVR (which uses the cursor pad for channel +/- functionality), I have used the "hard" channel +/- buttons as power/standby. Standby is only used on those devices that have discrete standby buttons, i.e., the receiver and the VCR. The chael macros for the PVR are our prime means of tuning various stations, and I have added macros (beyond the remote's default functions) for accessing common things like "Schedule" and "Recordings" for the PVR.

Benton Zwart's TSU7000 System
Added by Merlin | 2013 | 12,120 views
This TSU-7000 PCF template is an update to my earlier TSU3000 system and follows the Tonks standard, with his graphics (and a few others) linked to the IR codes located under a hidden "CODES" tab. I have a fairly simple setup - only 4 primary devices (Denon & Sammy) are unused in the background, with some macros used for the TV where discretes weren't available. Please note that I use the hard buttons for channel up/down, volume up/down, and mute - so these commands do NOT show up on the graphics screens. I have rearranged several of the layouts to get as much functionality on each primary screen as possible - some of the buttons are a little smaller than I'd like, but work well when controlled by a fingernail OR one of the small plastic styluses found with any of today's touch-screen PDAs (Palm, HP, etc).

Contest Entry #24: Simple Elegance
Added by Michael Burwen | 2004 | 2,380 views
This design was created with specific ergonomic objectives in mind: - Ease-of-vision, particularly by senior citizens. This dictated using relatively large, primary-color icons against a white background. The color scheme was devised by Mr. Gary Hoover, a retired famous movie-industry colorist and graphic artist.
- To provide self-contained instructions. On each page, depressing the owl "professor" icon leads to one or more text instruction pages.
- No more than two screens to operate any single device.
- To use the hard buttons as much as possible.
- K.I.S.S. i.e., pass the "wife" test.
Most of the graphics are original and were created with Paint Shop Pro 8. The instruction screens were created with Photoshop Elements 2.0.

Complete automated system configuration with discrete power. DVD and CD changer control via pictures for movies and music CDs. TV channel logos included for Adelphia Cable. This started with Mr. Tonks' config as a base, but was customized to my system.

Mike Burwen's Updated PCF
Added by Mike Burwen | 2005 | 10,305 views
This file updates the file entry-24.zip and contains several refinements. The DirecTV HD receiver changes from a Sony to a Samsung model which has a different feature set. The instruction screens have been significantly improved and now incorporate active buttons, enabling the user to activate functions directly from an instruction screen if desired. An X10-based lighting screen has been added.

Contest Entry #17: Theater Style
Added by Mike James | 2004 | 2,879 views
My PCF is a device based design split into parts for two rooms of the house. It is set up to keep all devices in sync regardless of whether discrete codes are available. Each device maintains a theme of stylized rounded buttons using a conistent layout to make it easy to find controls which are common between devices. Each page has a 'Master Off' button which will turn off all equipment related to the device and take you back to the main home page. I have demonstrated the use of the ProntoPro's translucent capability by using see-through menus for selecting audio, device, D-pad, and lighting settings. For the cable box device, the menus slide out from the bottom or sides showing simple animation techniques. It works great on the remote, but the simulator causes the screen to flash when changing pages, making the animation less smooth. Delays were added to slow it down in the simulator. These delays are not necessary on the actual remote. I hope you enjoy the graphics and layout design. It was a lot of fun to work on.

Mike Morrison's Original PCF
Added by Mike Morrison | 2004 | 6,373 views
This is my 2nd attempt at creating a PCF for the 7000. With this attempt, I have created most of the buttons myself. I did use Scott Harris' DirecTV icons (thanks Scott!) and borrowed from Jon Linville's DVD jukebox template. Besides borrowing from these sources, the rest is all mine. I am using many of the popular glass style buttons as well as a carbon fiber look for the DVD interface. The 400 disc jukebox has an alpha, numerical, music DVD, and sacd search engine. Most of the buttons have a "stamped imprinted" style lettering and symbols. Also, there are many one button steps for selecting HD and standard def programming.

Contest Entry #34: Envision
Added by Mike Ventimiglia | 2004 | 3,443 views
THIRD PLACE WINNER! Envision is a totally new way to look at the Philips Pronto. The first version encompasses a completely overhauled interface to the remote. Rather than stressing on unneeded functions, the minimal technical design makes way for increased aesthetic appeal. The typical TSU7000 interface was removed in a favor of a more user friendly environment. In the future, this design will be enhanced and made available.

Contest Entry #23: Sliding Tabs
Added by Mitch Mrvos | 2004 | 2,275 views
My system design is based in a completely custom operating environment with all custom graphics and animation. It was designed for ease of use and to have a high WAF rating. (That’s Wife Appreciation Factor!) It can operate on either device or action based depending on the user’s preference. Device based operation is accessible by simply touching the device banner at the top of the screen and selecting the desired device from the list. Action based operation, including system power, is accessed by pressing the home button. The lower left hard action buttons are direct access to a surround mode and a multi zone page. All page navigation within each device can be accessed with either the side toggle or the 4 screen hard buttons, which have selection feedback to identify each page. All page transitions use a simple morphing animation. I believe that the design’s best feature is that my wife actually uses it to control my bedroom system without my help and with very little explanation of how it works.
