This was my first original design which included a lot of time and effort in Photoshop. All bitmaps are 100% original, and none of the internal button labels were used. I wanted to make it uncluttered and simple to use, so I utilized macros and discrete on off commands. I also wanted to make full use of the joystick, so you will not see it on the touchscreen.

I know that this is really closer to software than to an actual operating system, but I call this PCF SamOS. My approach was to use the hard buttons as a means for consistent navigation, making it easy for the user to get anywhere on the remote in no more than two button presses. I've created custom graphics to give each device its own personality and vibe. I've also made use of drop-down menus in a few sections. I hope you dig it.

Version 4.1 All of the graphics have been completely redone again – this time I managed to give them a glass-like look. The transport buttons are based on Mike Ventimiglia’s ‘Envision’ design, however, they have also been redone from scratch and given a glass-like appearance. The icons at the top of each device are loosely based on John Sollecito’s design. I even designed a new battery icon which turned out quite nicely. I am an avid SCUBA diver and so the background pictures are themed after this. I have included the original generic background pictures if you wish to use them instead. I completely overhauled the underlying layout of the configuration file and moved the IR codes sections out from each of the devices. The reason I did this was to better access these hidden sections from the remote itself. There is, however, an access code required to enter the macros and IR codes area. It is set as “1, 2, 3, 4, Enter” and can easily be changed to whatever you wish. You can access this area by pressing the “setup” icon an then choosing the “IR Codes & Macros” button.

A 3D-styled color PCF from France.

Along the lines of my previous submissions, here's a "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" themed PCF.

In the same vein of my previous submissions, here's a Star Wars version. Enjoy!

Unique design approach that attempts to include frequently used buttons on all panels and to minimize movement between panels. This is an update of my previous TSU7000 submission, with a more refined look. Other unique features include efficient navigation of 100 plus channel and music choice logos; extensive use of extended IR codes for Yamaha RX-V3300 including volume and home banks. My first Custom PCF. I modified the system bitmap files to match my homepage buttons and changed the battery meter. Lots of channel icons in here for those that of you are interrested. I'm not sure of the exact models of the eauipment because it was a quick job I did for a friend.

A simple, intuitive orginal design that is very finger friendly. All of the graphics are original, and if being copied, please credit. This is my first attempt at a PCF. I did a lot of testing and learned a lot from everyone else's designs, so thanks a ton for that. Clearly this design is heavily influenced by contest entry #3 so props to Brian for it. I have been lurking on Remote Central for the longest time and this is my way of saying thanks.

I have tried to do three things with this design. One, I found most designs to be visually overwhelming so I tried to keep this one as minimal as possible. There is a slight transparency to everything that allows a background image of my old Mitsubishi TV to come thru. Its supper subtle so, I didn't bother changing it when I upgraded my TV last year. Everything was created as squares and rectangles in Photoshop without any outerglows, embossing or drop shadows. I have included 2 PSD templates if anyone wants to modify or update an image.

Two, anyone can use it with no more than 15 seconds of tutoring. I have had the design evolve over the last 2 years and after countless guests and a live in girlfriend, I am very confident of the navigability and flow.
