Contest Entry #30: Make It Work
Added by Robert Boazman | 2004 | 2,606 views
This is my first PCF design for the TSU7000. I created this design to accommodate my 6 year old son and my wife. Like most, she doesn't want to learn about all the equipment. As she says, "Just make it work." The design is simple to use and is based on our most frequently used activities. These icons are on almost all pages, DirecTV, TiVo and HDTV icons. Since some of the equipment, like the Yamaha, is new to me, I'll be adding functionality over time. Most pages have a browse back button, even though one is hard coded. Easy access to guides and info. A complete collection of CD cover art provides direct access to any CD. TiVo is used frequently. Buttons are built from stock Liatro buttons. Thanks to Daniel and all the Remote Central forum members and their designs. I borrowed from everyone. Special thanks to Dave D'Arche for the Pronto Wizard Guide. It saved me many hours and he was extremely helpful with my email questions.

Contest Entry #21: Seashells
Added by Rona Wittner | 2004 | 2,257 views
With this file I wanted to demonstrate the usage of animations. The theme that is chosen is based on the seashore. Four types of shells are used to represent the four devices TV, VCR, DVD and Amp. They are presented right away on the home page. All devices have their own sea shore background. The buttons on each device are small versions of the shells to get a uniform look and feel. The top bar shows the other devices for quick selection. The animations are implemented as macros (in hidden devices) with a series of page jumps. The following animations are included: - When a shell is selected on the home page this one becomes enlarged on the background. The others move to their place in the top bar. - In a device page press the Home hardkey and the same animation is played backwards. - In a device page select another device from the top bar and this one becomes the center. This is not a separate animation. Instead it just executes the Home macro and then the device selection macro from the home page. - There is a fifth animation, but that one you have to find for yourself! Background bitmaps are created from photographic material found on the internet and are all... Russ Budro's Original Layout
Added by Russ Budro | 2003 | 13,332 views
This was my first original design which included a lot of time and effort in Photoshop. All bitmaps are 100% original, and none of the internal button labels were used. I wanted to make it uncluttered and simple to use, so I utilized macros and discrete on off commands. I also wanted to make full use of the joystick, so you will not see it on the touchscreen.

Sam Thorpe's PCF Setup
Added by Sam Thorpe | 2003 | 10,520 views
I know that this is really closer to software than to an actual operating system, but I call this PCF SamOS. My approach was to use the hard buttons as a means for consistent navigation, making it easy for the user to get anywhere on the remote in no more than two button presses. I've created custom graphics to give each device its own personality and vibe. I've also made use of drop-down menus in a few sections. I hope you dig it.

Contest Entry #18: Syd7
Added by Scott Harris | 2004 | 2,545 views
This PCF has all original graphics that make use of the transparency and colors available. Each device has a uniquely colored background for all of its related pages as well as a help screen to identify the functions of the cursor and its surrounding buttons. The layout is quite intuitive to use. The soft buttons are well sized and spaced to help avoid pressing the incorrect one.

Scott Grimes' System PCF
Added by ScottGrimes | 2006 | 13,748 views
Version 4.1 All of the graphics have been completely redone again – this time I managed to give them a glass-like look. The transport buttons are based on Mike Ventimiglia’s ‘Envision’ design, however, they have also been redone from scratch and given a glass-like appearance. The icons at the top of each device are loosely based on John Sollecito’s design. I even designed a new battery icon which turned out quite nicely. I am an avid SCUBA diver and so the background pictures are themed after this. I have included the original generic background pictures if you wish to use them instead. I completely overhauled the underlying layout of the configuration file and moved the IR codes sections out from each of the devices. The reason I did this was to better access these hidden sections from the remote itself. There is, however, an access code required to enter the macros and IR codes area. It is set as “1, 2, 3, 4, Enter” and can easily be changed to whatever you wish. You can access this area by pressing the “setup” icon an then choosing the “IR Codes & Macros” button. This time I am made a modified version of my PCF file for those with the Pronto version of these excellent... (more)
