Christopher Crucitti's System

Drawing from previous full system PCF contributors, and mostly inspired by Daniel Tonks' design, I created this simple system configuration (including most of the graphics) for my modest home theatre system. The most noteable features include a lighting control device, a listing all delivery restaurants in my area of NYC for quick ordering, plus a favorites directory with icons for RCN Manhattan Digital Cable service.

Contest Entry #07: Aura

THIRD PLACE WINNER! Aura is a very flexible design that can be used for personal projects as well as professional programmer’s clients. You can create any background you like to customize the template or choose one of ten different colored backgrounds I made especially for this design. There are extra pre-made pages for Blu-ray, HD-DVD, QWERTY keyboard, plus an alternative to the Lutron page for lighting control for those who like to use the IR codes.

Adding buttons or creating new devices is very easy, there are eight pages of different size, dual state buttons and extra device icons which are pre-arranged that you can simply copy and paste into the correct position for a newly created activity. This design uses as much of the page as possible while minimizing the negative space between buttons and the need for multiple pages.

Contest Entry #11: Jade@MX-3000

Second Place Winner!
I am proud to introduce you to my Jade@MX-3000 configuration file.

Some key facts:

  • Almost 350 original graphics
  • Some 60 variables
  • About 330 Aliases / Macros
  • Hybrid navigation: Either via tapping the screen or by using the cursor keys
  • Full-working Tic-Tac-Toe, including win/lose recognition
  • Nearly all buttons with ON / OFF status
  • Animated screen changes
  • 4 devices (TV, VCR, DVD, AMP) plus Status and Game screens.
  • Interactive HELP screens for all devices.

With this configuration, I wanted to push the MX-3000 variable capabilities to the limit. By doing so, the remote always knows, which state the devices are in, no matter what you do. The main selection page lets you choose whether to watch TV, DVD or VCR. Go to the AMP screen to change inputs or soundfields etc. Selecting STATUS lets you view and change the state your devices are currently in. You will also find four preprogrammed sleeptimers there. And finally: a GAME for two, the classic game of TIC-TAC-TOE. In the main selection you can navigate either by tapping the desired action/device or - for ultimate convenience - use the cursor... I have built this design with ease of use in mind so that the most used functions are on the first screen to be accessed with less used, more detailed screens available as further pages. I have borowed buttons from a number of those available on this site plus downloaded graphics from the relevant manufacturers' web sites.

Here are 1mb and 2mb black & white conversions of my color CCF layout, created originally for the Philips ProntoPro remote. Features include fully tabbed control of 22 devices, a Canadian TV channel surfing section, a lighting page where the floorplan emulates the currently active lights, my Galaxy game (2mb only) and a highly graphical home page for device selection. Also includes my gallery file, which contains numerous unused buttons and bitmaps, plus graphical device icons in two different sizes for a total of 45 different types of devices. Easily modified to your system and preferences.

Now in .MX format. This is my complete layout for the Home Theater Master MX-1000, featuring a totally original user interface. Contains as many new buttons as possible including main menu, transport, keypad, toggle and others. The buttons are designed for maximum visibility with white text over a black background and are sized so that one large and one small line of text can be used. This file is designed for use with the devices listed below and includes learned data, plus all of my buttons in both .BTN and .BMP format.
